Vintage Arts and Music for the People, better know as VAMP, is a one stop vintage store located in Downtown Oakland. VAMP is a mainstay of Downtown serving the local artist community through consignment purchases and offering fresh creative inspiration. The shop is known for its unique offerings of vintage clothes, accessories, records, and locally made art. Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s a thrift store, everything is carefully curated with a careful eye and dedicated shoppers will find something new and exciting on every visit.

The small shop economizes its space in a way that allows for a corner of comfy couches for friendly neighbors to rest and chat. In fact, creating a community space is the most important aspect of the store. When you walk in the door you will get a cheerful welcome and the feeling of walking into a place that is welcoming and familiar. VAMP gives back to its customers and community by hosting events that give local creative types a space to perform and gather without needing to pay expensive cover charges or rental fees. When space for the creative arts is at an all time premium in the Bay Area this is not a small gesture by any means. The shop has entrenched itself in the hearts of its customers in such a way that when their rent was raised the Oakland community came together to fundraise and keep the shop open.
