Niharʼs live musical performances are a result of a dec$de of deep engagement in the Bay Area music scene. He is a founder of several influential San Francisco based musical collectives and event series that have shaped the local community and informed the modern Bay Area sound: Warm Leatherette, Haceteria, Surface Tension and most recently, T.V.O.D. Nihar is also an affiliate of the revered Oakland collective Club Chai. He is the co-founder, with Chris Zaldua, of Left Hand Path, a record label which has been featured in The Wire, Resident Advisor, Fact Magazine and in other publications for its strong track record of releases.

In August of 2018, Nihar released his first solo record ‘Chrysalisʼ on Jacktone Records. ‘Chrysalisʼ represented an accumulation of work from the period directly after the Ghost Ship fire, which remains a critical turning point for the community that he has been a part of building for many years. The album reflects the process of reconstruction, both as an individual and collective process.
